We commonly treat:
Depression and mood disorders
Anxiety, panic, and chronic worry
Adult ADHD

Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
Long-standing personality-related and relational patterns
If you’re not sure how to label what you’re going through, that’s okay—part of the first visit is figuring that out together.
Yes. MindBender Health is telehealth-only.
All appointments are held over secure video. You’ll need:
A private, quiet space
A stable internet connection
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with camera and audio
We do not offer in-person visits.
Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes depending on the type of visit.
Fees start from $199 per session.
Exact pricing can vary by visit type (initial evaluation vs. follow-up), and we’re transparent about fees before you book.
You’ll need to decide how Dr. Bender actually operates, but here are two versions. Pick one and delete the other.
Option A – Out-of-network only (common for private psychiatry):
MindBender Health is an out-of-network provider, and we do not bill insurance directly. You pay at the time of service. Upon request, we can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurance for possible partial reimbursement, depending on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.Option B – Mixed:
MindBender Health currently does not bill insurance directly. You pay at the time of service, and we can provide documentation (a superbill) you may submit to your insurance if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits. Please check with your insurance company for details on your specific coverage.
Yes. As a physician (MD) and psychiatrist, Dr. Bender can prescribe medication when it is clinically appropriate and safe, subject to federal and state regulations.
Important limitations:
We do not prescribe certain controlled substances where telehealth or regulatory restrictions apply (for example, some stimulant or benzodiazepine prescriptions may have limits or require specific conditions).
All prescribing decisions are made case-by-case after a full evaluation. No medications are guaranteed.
The first appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation (usually 60 minutes). You’ll discuss:
Current symptoms and concerns
Past mental health and medical history
Previous medications and therapies
Substance use, sleep, stress, and lifestyle
Goals for treatment
By the end, Dr. Bender will share his impressions and outline a clear plan, which may include:
Diagnosis (or working diagnosis)
Medications to consider
Therapy approaches
Recommended follow-up schedule
You’ll have a chance to ask questions before you decide how to move forward.
MindBender Health is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself or others, do not wait for an appointment. Instead:
Call 988 in the U.S. (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
Dial 911
Or go to your nearest emergency room
We can help with ongoing care and stabilization, but we cannot provide on-demand emergency or crisis intervention.
You’ll need to define the exact policy, but here’s a common structure:
We ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 24–48 hours in advance (choose your number and adjust text).
Appointments canceled after that window, or missed without notice, may be charged a late cancellation / no-show fee up to the full cost of the session.
This policy allows us to reserve time for patients who need care and keep the schedule running smoothly.
